ABOUT THIS COURSE
When the learners have completed the course they will be able to:
• understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.
• summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.
• express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
COURSE OUTLINE
On the Advanced Plus course, and according to needs, you practise the following speaking skills and functions:
• Responding naturally in conversations using reduced infinitives
• Using adjectives to describe people’s personalities
• Talking about trends using statistics
• Comparing the figures in two graphs
• Using tag questions with the correct intonation
• Describing emotions using appropriate vocabulary
• Practising polite requests in contexts
• Using the correct intensifying adverbs with the gradable adjectives
• Summarising and exchanging information on an article
• Using formal discourse in discussions
