This course is for adult students of English, aged 16 and over, who needs English for their studies at university.
ABOUT THIS COURSE
The British Council is now offering a Specialist Academic Writing Skills course to help you improve your reading, writing and study skills. The course will focus on the skills needed to start writing longer texts and more effective reading for academic research.
CONTENT
• find information quickly in a text
• use different techniques to understand a text more fully in a short amount of time.
• focus your research by asking relevant questions
• use texts as models to improve your writing
• write about: people; routines and procedures; study habits and; buildings
• use appropriate language when writing formal letters and emails
• use different ways of linking ideas clearly
• use punctuation and paragraphs effectively
